Set in the dawn of electricity, when 'hysteria' was still a common diagnosis for women's symptoms, this play examines the relationships between husband and wife, science and passion. The lighting keyed off the warmth of the electric light but brought in cooler shadows to match the shift into winter and frosty tensions between characters as the play progressed, only to dissolve into a dreamy moonlit garden at the end.
